Sunlit living room inside a Fresh Ground sober living home

Fresh Ground Sober Living

Second chances are a birthright, not a favor.

Modern sober living for people ready to face what's underneath the substance — with housing, structure, and community that treat them with honor and integrity until they're back on track.

We believe drugs are rarely the whole problem — they're what people reach for when life hands them something they can't face alone. Fresh Ground goes after the core, and gives people a safe, dignified place to stand while they do it.

Why Fresh Ground

Supportive enough to stay. Structured enough to change.

Structured, not institutional

Clear house standards, curfews, and testing — held with warmth instead of punishment.

Homes you're proud of

Real houses with real light, clean rooms, and a kitchen where people actually gather.

Peer accountability

House meetings, mentorship, and a community that notices when you go quiet.

Back to real life

Employment support, life skills, transportation help, and a plan for what comes next.

Our founder

Liz built the place she needed.

Liz lived inside addiction from the other side of it. Her ex-husband was a substance user, and she survived abuse and sexual assault in that home. She got out — and then she made a decision that shaped everything after it: to stop treating the drug as the whole story and start working on the thing underneath it.

People reach for substances when they can't face what's real. Grief, trauma, shame, exhaustion. Fresh Ground exists to give people a safe address, a real routine, and people who won't flinch — long enough to do that work.

"Everyone has the birthright to recover, to have resources, and to live with honor and integrity until they get back on track."

What you can expect

"You won't be a problem to be managed. You'll be a person with a schedule, a room, and people who know your name."
Our promise
"Small on purpose. One house means nobody slips through the cracks and nobody goes unnoticed."
Why we start here
"Come in with a duffel bag. Leave with a job, a savings plan, and a next address you chose yourself."
Where this leads

$250 covers a full week of housing for someone who has nowhere to go.

Every dollar goes to beds, move-in scholarships, and keeping the lights on in our homes.
